I realize how bloody aggro people in California are.

Just this morning, on my way to work, I saw a bicyclist yell at a car, I saw several cars honking at someone for trying to make a legal left turn, and on the Metro some woman practically knocked everyone over to get on the train. I don't know what her hurry was, but I actually had to tell her to chill out.

Everyone in Oregon is friendly, considerate and not in a hurry, it's refreshing.

Too bad I wasn't in Oregon for happy reasons though....

My best friend Robert went into what was supposed to be minor surgery on Thursday to have a small brain tumor removed. I got a call on Thursday night, during the Oregon game (go Ducks) that the tumor was much more severe than they thought it was. We rushed up to Portland to see Robert and spent 4 days there. He had a setback on Saturday, but is now recovering. He's still in ICU and recovery is going to be a long road, but just knowing he's going to make it is good news.
